Department of Community & Economic Development:
Historic Preservation
The Bluegrass Region is rich in history and works to preserve the scenery that makes us so prominent in the state and the nation. Working in conjunction with local governments, community preservation associations, and the Kentucky Heritage Council, ADD staff endeavor to maintain the integrity of our region through various historic preservation initiatives. Staff can work with communities on developing historic district overlays for planning and zoning work, secure funding sources to preserve historic structures, and work with the Kentucky Heritage Council to educate communities on the benefits of historic preservation.
