Hazard Mitigation Plan:

The Hazard Mitigation Plan is a resource and guide for local decision-making regarding implementation of hazard mitigation policies, actions, and projects for each local community. Additionally, the purpose of this Hazard Mitigation Plan is to provide local government officials with:

1. Basic information about various natural hazards,
2. Historical information with calculated Risk and Vulnerability Assessments regarding damages caused in the area by previous hazards, the areas vulnerable and the potential costs of future hazard events, and
3. A plan or guide as to how local jurisdictions could approach mitigating, or reducing, future hazard losses.

Lastly the Plan will enable your county to become eligible for disaster relief funding.
